Hello! My name is Luke Drummond, and I am fourteen years old. I live in West Oxfordshire and go to school at The Marlborough. I am a fairly keen cyclist and have completed rides such as The British Heart Foundation’s Oxford to Cambridge as well as various tours such as the Welsh Celtic trail.
I have been training about 90 miles a week in order to maintain my fitness.
The ride has a special meaning to me, as I am completing it in memory of my Grandad, Dr. Tony Drummond who died of a major heart attack on February 24th 2008.
I am collecting money on behalf of the British Heart foundation to help fund their support, research and education into heart disease. You can find out more about their work here and you can find out information on sponsoring me here.
I am inspired by many things. People, music and places. The fact that many people such as Dick Hoyt can put themselves through so much pain to help others, music from bands such as Dogs Die In Hot Cars help take the hours of loneliness in the saddle away. And my friends’ and family’s support always makes me cycle on and on! Without this, I would not be able to bring myself to do a ride on this scale!
Thanks to everyone and everything that has inspired me to keep on going!
